Data licence and attribution

These terms explain what CaffCalc permits people to reuse and, just as importantly, what CaffCalc cannot license on behalf of the organisations that publish the underlying product information.

Permission for CaffCalc-created material

You may copy, analyse and redistribute CaffCalc’s original dataset structure, selection, normalisation, transparent calculations and original explanatory notes for commercial or non-commercial work, provided that you give clear attribution, preserve the linked provenance fields and do not imply that CaffCalc endorses your use.

Required attribution

A suitable attribution is: “CaffCalc UK Caffeine Index, https://caffcalc.app/uk-caffeine-database, accessed [date].” When publishing individual values, retain the original source URL, market, serving, value basis and source-review date supplied with that record.

Material not covered by this permission

• Manufacturer documents, product descriptions, logos, trademarks and other third-party material remain subject to their owners’ rights and terms.
• CaffCalc does not grant rights in facts, databases or source material that it does not own or control.
• The names of companies and products are used only to identify the sourced records; no sponsorship or endorsement is implied.

Accuracy and responsible reuse

Product formulations, serving sizes and published source documents can change. Reusers should state the dataset version, preserve CaffCalc’s uncertainty and market labels, and check the current product label or official source before using a figure for a health, safety or purchasing decision. Calculated caffeine timelines are educational estimates, not measurements or medical advice.

No warranty

The dataset is provided as-is without a promise that it is complete, current for every product or suitable for a particular purpose. If a source conflicts with the dataset, the current official source and product label take precedence.
